Oral Surgery

At Berardi Dentistry we take careful consideration regarding all surgical cases.  As a dental resident, Dr. Berardi received advanced training in oral surgery.  He has become proficient in many aspects of surgery and has gained extensive experience in this field of dentistry. 

 
Tooth Extractions

As dentists we are trained to save teeth.  In some circumstances a tooth may need to be extracted.  Fortunately, we have the ability to analyze the condition of the diseased tooth and properly recommend its comfortable removal.  At Berardi Dentistry, a digital x-ray will be taken of the problem tooth for Dr. Berardi to analyze. In most cases, he will be able to remove your tooth.  Some cases may require the referral to an oral surgeon.  These cases include teeth with curved roots and impacted wisdom teeth.

Implant Placement

 
Dental implants are becoming the most common method for replacing teeth.  In the event that implant placement is needed Dr. Berardi will refer you to an oral surgeon.  Throughout treatment Dr. Berardi will work closely with the oral surgeon in an interdisciplinary manner and manage the implant process from start to finish. 
First, the surgeon will carefully analyze your jaw bone making sure that the area where the implant is being placed is safe.  He will not want to interfere with any nerve tissue or blood vessels.  A CT of the head may be necessary to find the exact pathway for this implant to be placed.  Once the implant is successfully placed, Dr. Berardi will continue the restoration process by placing the crown, or tooth portion, into the implant.  Dr. Berardi will work with a local dental laboratory technician to make sure that the crown not only fits well but also looks great.
